2022 is about to end, so here is a quick recap of everything I publicly published or participated in – podcasts, speeches, blog posts, projects, Twitter threads, and books.

My 2022 Podcasts

  • ⭐️ I appeared on EconTalk, where Russ Roberts interviewed me on compulsion, self-deception, and the brain (link to podcastvideo)
  • ⭐️ Hunter Hastings from the Mises Institute interviewed me twice, once on adaptation (linkAppleSpotify) and once on teams as adaptive systems (linkAppleSpotify)
  • Molson Hart interviewed me on managing remote teams (link, the first minute is mute but then we start talking)

My website

I recently revamped ⭐️ my website to make it clearer and to make what I do more understandable. Check it out!

My 2022 videos

I have a Youtube channel. I recently posted the following videos:

My 2022 consulting

I had a few consulting engagements where I helped clients manage the people side of their operations. This involved audits, workshops, and trainings.

I also had a few executive coaching clients, whom I helped become more effective managers-of-managers (including developing the managing skills of their subordinates).

Finally, I also ran a good quantity of workshops and private talks.

( is more information on what I do on the executive advisorship side)

My 2022 blog posts

I published ⭐️ a few one-pagers on human behavior, management, and public health.

I also published 15 blog posts:

My 2022 courses

In addition to many private workshops, I also run a few editions of my two flagship courses, Managing Remote Teams and Antifragile Organizations.

Health

In the 2021 edition my book Ergodicity I mentioned some details regarding my personal health, so here is an update. Last year, I discovered I had eye cancer. Thankfully, I stumbled upon it at a very early stage, in which it’s extremely curable. I underwent radiotherapy (a quasi-mystical experience: a few minutes of invisible rays pointed at my eye, and the tumor melted over the next days). It now seems healed – just last month I completed the one-year post-treatment regular checks, and they seem fine.

As you probably know, I don’t like talking about my personal life in public. That said, I thought it was important to mention this for a few learnings I got out of it, some obvious but important such as the importance of catching these bad things early (as I wrote in an earlier book, “problems grow the size it takes for you to acknowledge them”), and a few ones less obvious, such as, “it might pay to insist talking to a doctor who saw at least once the disease you suspect to have,” “there are many therapies and depending on the doctor you talk, you might get different options with different side-effects,” and “the previous point applies also to public hospitals, which aren’t monolithic entities but comprise of different doctors with different preferences, competences, and access to therapies, who might not talk to each other and definitely do not form a hive mind, so be proactive in talking to many of them to understand and expand your options” (also, my sincere thanks to the Italian public healthcare).

Thank you

Wow, that’s been a lot! Thank you so much for your support as a reader. If there’s any piece of mine that you particularly enjoyed reading, please share it with your friends, family, or colleagues. It would make my day.

Thank you, and wish you a great 2023,

Luca Dellanna
