I don’t believe in “optimizing” my life.
Optimizing requires knowing how long you’ll live, how long your close ones will live, how long your current job will be relevant, how long your dreams will remain the same, and so on…
But life is full of uncertainty.
If one optimizes neglecting uncertainty, they’ll expose themselves to the risk of ending up quite unhappy, if something changes outside of their plans.
For me, “optimizing” my life means living it in such a way that I’ll have had a good life regardless of whether I live 50 more years or I die tomorrow, regardless of whether I stay in my current town and job for the next fifty years or I’ll have to abandon them in fifty years, …
